The country Czechoslovakia has issued a set of stamps of 5 values on 25 March 1958 as well as separated stamp on 15 July 1958.
The set was designed by Prof. Karel Svolinsky and engraved by Jindra Schmidt for the values 45 and 1.20) and by Ladislav Jirka for the values of 30, 60 and 90.
The stamp set has been issued in order to advertise the Czechoslovakian products exhibited at the Brussels Exhibition, each inscribed at left and right of value table "BRUXELLES" "1958":
- 30-h vermillion red and light blue - jewelry
- 45-h brick red and light violet - toys
- 60-h violet and light green - textiles
- 75-h blue and brick red - the Kaplan turbine
- 1.20-h green and rose, two pieces of artistic Czechoslovakian glassware
At the bottom of each stamp at either side of the value tabler are miniature sketches appropriate to the subject shown.
All values have been printed in sheets of 50.
Stamps set:
Another stamp has been issued on 15 July 1958. The date of issue was related to celebrate Czechoslovakian week at the Fair (National Day took place on 23 & 24 July 1958).
The designer of the stamp was Frantisek Hudeck and the basis engraving was done by Ladislav Jirka and the second color engraving was done by Jaroslav Goldschmied.
The design was in brown and blue and had the value of 1.95 Kcs. The Czechoslovakian Pavilion at the Exhibition, projected by architects Josef Hruby and Zdenek Pokorny; emblem of the exhibition at upper left, with inscription "BRUXELLES 1958".
