The so-called Atomium stamps were the first stamps issued with regards to the Expo 58 happening.
The design of the stamps depicted the Atomium itself as well as the official Expo 58 logo (star).

The stamps were issued as propaganda of the World Fair. The stamps have been engraved by Mr. L. Janssens and been prepared for printing by Mr. E. Meert. This both activities were done at Malines, where today the printing offices of the Belgian Post are still located.
The stamps were printed in sheets of 30 stamps (5 stamps per row x 6 rows), and were available as from the date of 17 April 1957 in all postal offices.
The stamps were perforated 11 1/2. There were 4 different plates.
